Ok SO leme start by saying that all the shit I talked in the last few months has apparently boiled down to a big heap of nothing. Just as the movie was hyped as the biggest thing of the year so was all the "problems" I had heard about the movie. Damn you fanboy bloggers of these BLESSED intertubes! Damn you all to hell. How could you complain about that movie? HOW? Hell, half of Hollywood is complaining that it was too TRUE to the graphic novel. You should all be ASHAMED.
Now in case you're wondering "What the Eff" I'm talking about....It would be Watchmen
OK so now that the subject matter at hand is set and I've gotten the stuff I really wanted to say done let's move on shall we?
I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all the bad things I said about the movie. I'm sorry about how I talked shit about Zack Snyder not being a "visionary director" I'm sorry about how I bitched that they changed the ending (they didn't REALLY change the ending).
However I will NOT apologize for the incredible amount of BLUE DICK in that movie. As far as I'm concerned they could have kept that damn black spedo thing on Dr.Manhattan. But I guess they left it in there so your girlfriend would have something to look at while she's pissed off at you for dragging her to this 2 and a half hour MAGNUM OPUS of a damn movie.
By the way....if your girlfriend doesnt like this movie. Break up with her. The bitch had it coming anyway. She probably fucked your best friend Tim. I'm just saying, that's what I heard.
Anyway, one thing that really got me was the music selection that they used. All the tracks we PERFECT. Perfect timing, perfect volume, perfect fade in and out. I'm not trying to gush but I mean c'mooon I'm a DJ clearly music is important to me. The best example of this was a scene where Osymandius is talking to some energy company CEOs about putting them out of business with unlimited renewable energy and if you listen closely in the background you can hear a elevator musak version of Tears for Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World playing in the background. Even siting there listening to the on going dialoge in the seen I kept hearing this familiar tune and finally I adjusted my listening a bit and I heard it and thought to myself "Well fuck me in the goatass. Zack Snyder you'e one crafty bitch."
The CG, custom Zack Snyder slow-mo transition shots, and fight scenes are all just SPOT ON. There is, however, a CONSIDERABLE amount of violence in this movie. It is not one you'd take your kids too.....and I don't mean that in the way I meant it when I said you might not want to take your kids to see The Dark Knight....when I say it this time I mean don't let your children get anywhere near that theater....just hearing the movie could turn them into a raving sociopathic killer or scar them for the rest of their lives....or it might just make'em wanna kick an ass or two.
I mean hey, I don't pay for they're schoolin. You go pick'em up after little Jimmy hit Johnny Walker with a brick in the dick then jumped on Bobby Tucker and bit him like a savage dog tearing off half his cheek....I mean they're your kids not mine. I'm just saying.
Now as far as what IS missing in the movie you will notice that there are 1 and a half missing subplots and 2 missing scenes. Before you go asking me about the pirate comic that was in the comic it will be released on DVD sometime as an animated short film. So booyah.
One of the scenes they left out was the death of Hollis Mason (the original NightOwl) where he is killed by a group of roving gang members. I would love to see that scene the way that Zack [Snyder] would turn it and play it out. I think that would have been an emotional harbinger like whoa.
