Need For Speed: Most Wanted - PS:Vita

With the Playstation Vita getting little to no attention these days, even though it is possibly one of the best hand-held consoles out there to date, I feel it is time to give you the skinny on some nice games that I have been playing but sadly... With this game, it is not the case...

To quote a fellow DJ... LETS PLAY - Need for Speed: Most Wanted

The Playstation Vita offers many amazing features, with a dual touch screen, amazing motion sensors and generally an awesome bit of graphical goodness that would rival any first gen Playstation 3 game.

That being said, this is not one of them. Clearly when making NFS:MW the designers gave very little attention towards the game when thinking about PSV options. I felt that this game was a sorry excuse for a racing game and pushed me to points of general anger. Whilst when you start you feel extremely awesome in drifting across courses and being able to beat your racing enemies without much of a problem but then, after five races you spot the flaw… The matches get boring!

The basic idea is that you go around ‘finding’ cars for you to get into and then you race them around, doing five races per car that are pretty much the same (if not exactly the same). This just gets very boring and repative after a while.

Not only is that an issue but the thing that drove me INSANE was the fact that if you so much as ‘nudged’ the wall, and I’m talking about a wing-mirror nudge you would ‘crash’ and have to start from the back of the pack… The controls itself are very poor as there is no real feeling from what the Vita can do, there are no hidden tricks with the motion sensors or even the touch screen area. Clearly this game was designed for a boring old console and not the amazing things that the Playstation Vita can bring.

Overall, for the Vita version of Need For Speed: Most Wanted, I would say a big fat

DO NOT BUY!

The only small redeeming factor in this game is that to claim a ‘most wanted’ car you have to crash into it but even then that is about as a good as a minute man. . .

Seriously, if I hadn’t bought this with the Vita I woulda demanded my money back.
