Announced this week through its Nintendo Direct stream, the company will be releasing 4 titles this summer for the 3DS. New Mario-Luigi RPG, Mario Golf, Donkey Kong, and Animal crossing games all for you to enjoy!

This week at the Ghost in the Shell Arise anime press conference, it was revealed that a GITS Online "hacking-FPS" (first person shooter) is currently in development. 

Players will gather information as a means to remodel their cyborg chassis, cooridinate with Tachikoma to take on enemies, and more!

Neoburu, a subsidiary of Nexon, is developing the game and plans to release the game worldwide, but no further information on when that will be has been revealed. 

The game is suspected to be released in the first half of 2014!

I for one am excited about this release. Anyone else excited?!?

Opera software in a press release posted last Wednesday announced that their entire line of browsers will switch rendering engine from its own proprietary Presto engine to the open source Webkit one, used currently by Chrome, Safari and quite a few mobile browsers.

The change to Webkit will occur slowly and gradually, starting with Opera Mobile and Opera Mini, and will eventually hit the desktop versions of the browser.

The move caused mixed reactions both to Opera fans and competitors. While everyone agrees that this decision is a good strategic move for Opera that currently holds 3.72% of the global desktop browser market share, the thought that this convergence to webkit will impact the way browsers adhere to web standards negatively, is prevalent. The prospect of webkit becoming the de-facto standard engine brings back bad memories when Internet Explorer 6 was the engine that people considered to be the standard, creating a chaotic environment regarding web standards.

Good news everyone!  The first Beta Test phase for the reboot of the online Final Fantasy franchise has been dated for Monday, February 25th, 2013.  Additionally, on the 22nd @ 3 AM PST (6AM EST) Director/Producer Naoki Yoshida will be answering questions from fans the world over.  Additional Info about the upcoming beta test and the Yoshida's QA session can be found here and here
