Hot on the heels of the PS4 comes rumours from the Microsoft camp and their next console. Codenamed “Durango” we’ve all heard many tales ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime, including videos that suggest projection that can fill your room with video, always on DRM and more. But it seems that the new hot rumour concerns how games play and of course that dreaded and much maligned DRM. But a new document shared by Vgleaks has more rumours that are at present just rumours, but still worth sharing with the world.
According to the document (apparently originally coming from development kit, Durango XDK) it seems that the console will require installation of games to the hard drive. There will be a Blu-Ray drive built in, but this will only be for installation purposes. It’s suggested that this is part of an anti-preowned market strategy that includes “per console” activation codes to prevent the reselling of games. Also outlined here was a possibility of being able to play a game during its install, much like the way a game like WoW or Diablo 3 can be played part way through its install.
Also touted is the Durango’s “always on state” which seems to be much more than just “always online”. According to the document this means powered on too. This supposedly means that the console can be ready, up to date and always current with software and that it will draw a minimal amount of power when not actually in use.
Whether or not these rumours are fact, fiction or just fantasy is still unclear, but if this is to be believed then there could be something that will cause a huge divide in gaming. Will people support or abhor the whole “always on” idea. Will the Durango actually be that self aware, giving us SkyNet in our living rooms? Will Durango evolve and kill us all? Who knows.
Only time will tell, and once time gives us the full SP, then we’ll be sure to let you know.
What do you know, people were right and there is indeed a helpful robot up there. Also, you ever make a big mistake that you instantly regret? That happens today. Only instead of massive amounts of remourse, we get about 900 bullets in the ass...Click the image or after the break to see the video.

The free games have just been announced by EA by way of apology for what I shall call the "Sim City incident".
In a blog on the EA site the company announced a choice of games that aren't as bad as you'd think. The list is as follows.
- Battlefield 3 (Standard Edition)
- Bejeweled 3
- Dead Space 3 (Standard Edition)
- Mass Effect 3 (Standard Edition)
- Medal of Honor Warfighter (Standard Edition)
- Need For Speed Most Wanted (Standard Edition)
- Plants vs. Zombies
- SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition
EA have said that they'll be opening up the redemption portal "country by country" but that the portal will be open for everyone by March 22. They're pretty adamant that they don't want anyone to miss out on their free game and have asked that people register their copy of SimCity before March 25, 2013 at 11:59 PM PDT and have said everyone should claim their free game on their Origin service by March 30, 2013 at 11:59PM PDT.
