Take your audio quality to the next level
aacPlus If you are using Windows Media Player to tune in to Split Infinity Radio, we highly suggest that you install Orban's aacPlus plugin. Read the full article if you want to know why we make such a bold suggestion. In the near future, Split Infinity Radio will start broadcasting in aacPlus.

What is aacPlus?

aacPlus is an encoding technology similar to mp3PRO which offers better audio quality than mp3PRO in lower bitrates.

But why aacPLUS? Isn't it fine already?

Here at Split Infinity Radio, we strive to deliver the best possible content in the best possible quality to our audience. aacPlus will allow us to enhance our audio stream's quality to cd-like. At the same time we will be utilising half the bandwidth than what we do now. For you the listener, this means that listening to Split Infinity Radio will consume less of your bandwidth and leave more space for your gaming, browsing or other internet activity and at the same time sounding much better.

So where can I get aacPlus?

If you are using Windows Media Player, you can get the aacPlus plugin on http://www.orban.com/plugin/. Installing the plugin will ensure that you'll be ready to tune in to SI Radio when we start broadcastin in aacPlus. It is also possible in the future that Windows Media Player 11 will support aacPlus natively. But until then, the plugin is the next best thing.

What if I'm using Winamp?

Then you're all set up already. Winamp supports aacPlus natively.

What about other players?

aacPlus is being wildly adopted by developers. As time goes by, more media players support aacPlus. By the time we'll start broadcasting aacPlus the latest version of your favourite media player will probably already support it.
