Is victory in the air? It may well be, possibly, maybe…
And for everybody who plays NC Soft’s  City of Heroes, hopefully…

It seems that a possible stay of execution for the MMO is on the cards as an in-game message from a City of Heroes admin said that “Paragon management is having discussions with NCsoft and investors”.
That’s all we know at the minute, but a slew of Facebook groups and the petition to keep the game open may well have been noticed.

We at Split Infinity Radio are keeping our fingers crossed that November 30th doesn’t bring apocalypse to Paragon City and will keep you posted as soon as we hear anything.

November 30th sees quite possibly the most heart breaking moment in gaming ever. City Of Heroes, the seminal, influential and inspiring MMO closes it’s doors forever. Of course, we don’t want this to happen and in a rare show of political outrage, we at Split Infinity Radio ask you all to head on over to the links below and show that you want the game to stay online.

City Of Heroes has always been a big part of the SI Radio Community, with our show Unmasked, our SG and many nights whiled away saving the people and dispatching the badguys of Paragon City.

We will be hosting a number of farewell events to the much loved game, so keep your eyes and ears on Split Infinity Radio, and please, show your support, sign the petition, join the Facebook groups.

It’s our turn to be the heroes now….

Welcome to Tower Wars! A rather nice little addition to the Tower Defence game that pits you against another player in a Tower Defence/Creature Summoning game. The game itself is pretty basic in concept but offers a rather nice distraction if you have 30 minutes spare time.

As with anything tower defence you’ll start off in a pretty basic mode, archer towers and going against little minions, but as the cash starts coming either via your gold mines or the killing going on, you’ll find yourself gaining the likes of cannon towers, telsa coils or hell (my personal favourite) a lava-tower which drops boiling hot lava down on the enemy burning them alive.

With the spawns you do have an element of strategy to go with, do you upgrade the units you send individual or do you try and go straight for the overall improves such as shields and armour? The choice is down to you.

This game can be found on Steam and is currently £6.99 a pretty decent game that’s offered me over 30 hours of play so far and I still ain’t bored of it!

Take a look inside to find out what I thought about the brand spanking new RPG game known as Sleeping Dogs. I'll beat with you with a fish, stab you with meathook and then dive from a running car whilst shooting out tires... Kid you not, all possible in here... Read on my Lil Jimmies, read on

There was sad news today in the MMO world and it gives us all at SI Radio a heavy heart to announce the closure of Paragon Studios and of course their flagship MMO, City of Heroes.

The game has been a favourite amongst superhero and MMO fanatics since it's release in 2004, inspiring many MMOs and setting a benchmark for the genre as we know it today. Also, the game has been a firm favourite amongst SI Radio listeners and DJs and was even the focus of our weekly show "Unmasked" which was hosted by DJs Jules, Rick James, Desmodos and even myself a couple of times.

In recent years the game went free to play under the guise of City of Heroes Freedom and has also spawned expansion packs City of Villains and Going Rogue.

No date has been announced for the final day of the game other than "before the end of this year" and more details will be released over the next few weeks.

An official statement from Community Manager, Andy Belford has been released on the official City of Heroes website that can be read here.
