When we think of Lego vdeo game licenses we think of Star Wars, Batman, Lord of the Rings and Schindler’s List. Well, okay, maybe not the last one but as for the others they’re either out now or coming out soon, but there’s one license that is caked in destiny for the Lego/video game treatment. One thing that’s very existence demands it, but this time with a twist. A video game is all set to become Lego this time, and of course it’s Minecraft. Click after the break to find out more.

We often talk of the halcyon days of gaming, those times when we were excited by SID chips, gargled speech and games like Elite and Turrican 2. But in 1997 one of the most important landmarks in gaming history touched a generation, it sold millions, was the sole reason the Playstation was harder to find in the UK than rocking horse poop in the run up to that holiday period, and something that kept gamers enchanted for hours and hours as the newest and coolest gaming hero known to man took us through an adventure that spanned three discs, involved fighting, friendship, death and even a little bit of cross dressing. Yes Final Fantasy VII was the flavour of the day, week, month, hell it was the flavour of the decade, and nothing since has had quite the same impact. I could go on about this forever and a day, but I won't... You see, as I type this in fevered excitement I am now installing Final Fantasy VII. For it is back, with a vengeance, and it's there for PC owners everywhere to enjoy. It has achievements, cloud save abilities (which still makes me snigger because of the game's protagonist) a “character booster” to boost stats when you're stuck, and most importantly has been optimised for the latest PC hardware. So, what are you waiting for? Final Fantasy VII is calling you, you know you want to play it again if you're over a certain age, or you want to see what the fuss is all about if you're under a certain age. Check it out here and enjoy! Oh, and of course, expect a full review over the next few days...if I can stop playing long enough to write one that is...

So, here we are relaunching the news section of this site, and in today's offering we have the game I'm personally most excited about right now in Square Enix's "Sleeping Dogs".

Due out this week, the game focuses on the (mis)adventures of an undercover cop infiltrating Hong Kong gangs and doing the GTA thing. Looks exciting and you can excpect  review of it once I get my grubby hands on the game. But for now, enjoy the official trailer.
