Minecraft Lego Out Now!

When we think of Lego vdeo game licenses we think of Star Wars, Batman, Lord of the Rings and Schindler’s List. Well, okay, maybe not the last one but as for the others they’re either out now or coming out soon, but there’s one license that is caked in destiny for the Lego/video game treatment. One thing that’s very existence demands it, but this time with a twist. A video game is all set to become Lego this time, and of course it’s Minecraft. Click after the break to find out more.

Lego CUUOSO, where people unleash their imagination and show their wares to the world allows people to vote on them, and once a potential product receives 10,000 votes Lego themselves will review it, and all being well the product will be released for the world to play with.

Not only is this the first videogame to Lego conversion to go through Lego CUUSO and become a real product, but it’s also the first product to get the magical 10,000 votes and pass the review stage.

The set itself comprises of four cubic modular vignettes  that can be connected together. There will also be blocks that are 1X1 size with a tile on top. You’ll be able to build your own Creeper and your own Steve, and if that wasn’t enough the surfaces of your modules are designed to come off so that you can reveal your recourses, mines and other iconic Minecraft items. Because of the nature of Lego and Minecraft this of course allows you to build your landscapes up exactly as you’d like, so this really is just like the game in Lego form.

It’s not all about using one set though, you can link as many as you like together and make large, epic real life Minecraft worlds.

The set is out now on the official Lego website (model 21102) and was up for preorder on the J!NX website.  It’s sold out now sadly, but eBay is your friend…
