Kotaku is reporting that the next wave of XBOX 360 Elites will not be shipping with HDMI cable...nor component cables. Apparently this info was confirmed by some unnamed Gamestop employees. It seems that the only thing that will be shipping with the console will be the SD cables which is a bit of a let down for those expecting to get the most from their gaming experience right out of the box. Why would Microsoft make a business decision like this? Are they looking to manufacture their own cables? Sell them for profit? Could the Natal enabled 360 include an HDMI cable as the Elite takes the place of the Pro SKU just discontinued? Our guess is just as good as yours but we speculate it could be due to the fact they posted their first official "loss" in funds this year due to the recession. Who ever said that the game industry was recession proof is an idiot.
