Just when you thought you couldn’t possibly get any more music based games, ActiBlizz is going to prove you wrong. Oh yes. They are going to release three more music based video games this year: “DJ Hero,” “Guitar Hero 5,” and “Band Hero.” They also have confirmed that they are working on “Guitar Hero: Van Halen.”
“DJ Hero” still doesn’t have a full set list in place, but there are some new details on the controller. It’s a single turntable with three colored buttons similar to Guitar Hero five fret buttoned guitar.
“Band Hero” is looking to be the family friendly version of “Guitar Hero” focusing more on top 40 hits. “Guitar Hero 5” will likely be a carbon copy of what you’ve already seen with new fun things like the ability to drop in and out of songs, change band members, instruments, and difficulty levels on the fly.
“Guitar Hero: Van Halen” will be out in the second half of this year. No specific tracks have been confirmed, but there will be music from guest bands including Queen, Weezer, Blink-182, The Offspring and Queens of the Stone Age. It’s also not a certainty which band members will be avatars in the game.
