Assassin's Creed Revelations-The Gamefest Interview

While at Gamefest in Birmingham last weekend I had the opportunity to speak with Paul Mossman from Ubisoft. And he had a few interesting things to say about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Revelations.

Need to know more about this, the last game in the series? Then check out what h said when you click below.

We all have read that Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the upcoming  game from Ubisoft  is going to be the last game with Italian protagonist, Ezio and finishes off from the cliffhanger at the end of the previous game Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.  As ever, this game will feature all the usual contract killer hijinks, so expect hiding in crowds, climbing buildings and a plethora of weapons to help you on your murderous way. But what is the game going to be bringing other than that?

After talking to Ubisoft’s Paul Mossman I learned that the game will also feature Altair from the original game. He’ll be there not just as an NPC but he’s playable and will be there to tie up all of those loose ends from the first game and finish his story completely.

In Revelations, Ezio  will be going off on a pilgrimage to find out more about Altair and the route of the assassins, further adding to the classic character’s involvement in the new title.

Although not much was said about how it would work, a bomb making system has been added. We’ve been promised that this will add more options and more scope to how you play the game and in a bold statement was touted as a way to the play the game how you want. New weapons and items are in the game including a hook blade and also zip lines which are there to make travel faster and easier.

Other than those little revelations about gadgets and characters there will also be new maps and characters for the multiplayer, so we can expect to play Brotherhood style cat and mouse games with those added maps and a few unspecified new modes to the gameplay.

I also asked about  DLC at the minute. Although there are no plans for DLC it was hinted that there woul be a possibility of updates like the ones seen in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood

After the talk of characters, maps and gadgets I asked if new characters were to be introduced with a possibility of new games in the franchise the question was met with a smile and “you’ll have to wait and see”.

Since then I have learned that PS3 owners will be getting a bonus out of the new game with the 2007 original being bundled free with Revelations, so if you needed a reason to buy a copy of this game, now you have one in that free stuff is always good. Ubisoft have said that there will be no trophy support for the original game, but still, it’s free and quite a….wait for it…..revelation.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be released by Ubisoft  on November 15th this year.
