Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will be released starting on December 7, 2010. The expansion will be available on Windows and Macintosh as usual at a suggested retail price of $39.99 for the regular edition and will also be available as a digital download from the Blizzard Store. The Collector's Edition packed with bonus items will be $79.99 and only available via retail stores.
If you don't know already, in Cataclysm, Azeroth's entire layout will be completely changed by the return of the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing. There will also be two new playable races -- worgen and goblins, as well as a new secondary profession of Archeology. The level cap has been bumped up to 85, there are cool new guild perks that you'll get by levelling up, and some old haunts like the Deadmines will be getting a heroic mode.
