Diablo 3 has a Release Date!

Diablo 3 ARt

Diablo 3 finally has a release date! Check inside to see when it is available in your area!

Blizzard has officially announced that Diablo 3 will be released on May 15. The game will physically be available in the United States, Canada, Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau and will be receive a global digital distribution. Gamers in Mexico, South America and Russia will be able to purchase a physical copy of the game on June 7. The standard edition of the game will retail for $60 USD and the Collector's Edition will cost gamers $100. The Collector's edition will include the game, a behind-the-scenes Blu-Ray/DVD, the soundtrack, art book, and an exclusive USB thumb drive that includes Diablo 2 and exclusive content usable with Diablo 3.

Digital pre-sales are now available for customers that wish to download the game. World of Warcraft players will also receive a free copy of Diablo 3, if they purchase an annual pass for World of Warcraft. As with Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft, Diablo 3 will be playable with the Windows and Mac operating systems. Although a predominantly single-player game, the game will require a constant internet connection and a battle.net account.

As was announced earlier this month, the PVP aspects of the game will not be available at launch, but will be implemented at a later date. Diablo 3's lead designer, Jay Wilson has stated that the reasoning for this is, "As we're counting down the days until we're ready to announce a release date for Diablo III, we've come to realize that the PvP game and systems aren't yet living up to our standards.”
