Fallout 3 DLC for PS3 shocker!

Playstation 3 owners prepare to rejoice as today those lovely people at Bethesda have announced that you'll finally be getting DLC for Fallout 3. Yes PS3 owners will be able to play the DLC already available for PC and 360 and if that wasn't enough two more DLC packs have been announced for all systems.

A patch will be released to enable the DLC and late June will see the release of Operation Anchorage followed a few weeks later by the Pitt and again a few weeks after that, Broken Steel.

And if that wasn't enough, Bethesda will be adding to the already open-ended (via Broken Steel) post apocalyptic game two new DLCs planned for all versions, so now PS3 owners will no longer be left out in a cruel cold DLC-less void.

The new DLC packs will be Point Lookout which will be a new swampland area filled with new quests and content. It will be available in late June for Xbox 360 and PC.at 800 points or $9.99 or a couple of pieces of scrap metal and a bobblehead. It will be available through the usual Xbox and Games for Windows Live services as well as by token at retail. The PS3 version will be coming after the first three DLCs have been released.

The 2nd brand new DLC will be called Mothership Zeta and will feature some rather annoyed aliens, yes you read that right ALIENS!

In this one you can expect to experience an alien abduction first hand and see if you have the minerals to survive it too. Mothership Zeta is due out at the end of July for Xbox 360 and PC at the usual price and places and will be available on PS3 after Point Lookout.

And for one last tidbit, there will be an add-on disc, imaginatively titled as Add-on Pack #1 which will include The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage.  It will be available for Xbox 360 and PC on May 26. This will be followed by the equally imaginatively titled Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #2 which will include Broken Steel and Point Lookout and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC in August.

Apparently retail versions of the game add-on packs for PS3 are not possible and the DLC will only be available for download online via PlayStation Network. But hey, at least PS3 will be getting it all.

There will be a Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition arriving in October. And it will include the original game plus all five add-ons for $59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and $49.99 for PC.
