Remember me
-Release Date: NA June 4, 2013 /EU June 7, 2013
-Dev: Dontnod Entertainment / Capcom
-Released on: PC/PS3/Xbox 360
Kicking off this month’s releases is ‘Remember me’ – a new IP from Capcom that explorers a not too distant future full of robots and tight pants. You play as Nilim, the best of the best when it comes to manipulating memories. Unfortunately, Nilim has come down with a bad case of amnesia in this neo paris setting, which kicks off a journey to recover your lost thoughts and kick some ass along the way.
The gameplay is a mashup of Batmans freeform fighting combined with tomb raider style platforming. Through her journey, Nilim will manipulate this cyber society around her to gain the upper hand, controlling doors wirelessly and even DDosing enemies that get in her way. The player will also be able to dive into a combo editor, giving rise to over 50 thousand possible fighting combinations for you to choose how you stick it to the cyber police.
The Last of Us
-Release Date: June 14TH Worldwide
-Dev: Naughty Dog
-Released on: PS3
Next on the agenda is ‘The Last of Us’ - Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated adventure game. Set in a disastrous future, A killer fungus has spread across the earth’s surface, leaving most of the population either dead or infected with the remaining survivors forced to live inside quarantined zones governed by a strict military regime. You take control of Joel, an ex black-market smuggler tasked with escorting a young 14 year old girl named Ellie, who will serve as your AI companion in your journey.
Gameplay is a blend of 3rd person stealth and combat, with cover playing a big part in navigating your surroundings. The game also features a AI behaviour system called the ‘balance of power’ which helps enemies react intelligently to the situation, allowing them to change their actions on the fly to better fight against you when you are most vulnerable.
Company of Heroes 2
-Release Date: June 25TH Worldwide
-Dev: Relic Entertainment
-Released on: PC
June will also give rise to Company of Heroes 2 – Sequel to the popular RTS title released back in 2006. This time, the story will focus on the eastern front with the Soviet Army joining the ranks of playable factions. The game has received a significant facelift, with improvements being made to the games engine, new line-of-sight technology to better simulate a more realistic troop visibility and a dynamic weather system that can heavily affect the battlefield.
The game will feature an all new campaign, as portrayed via flashbacks of a Soviet soldier being interrogated on his experiences during the war. Multiplayer mode will also return, with full steamworks compatibility to allow for easier matchmaking.
Animal Crossing – New Leaf
-Release Date: NA June 9th/EU June 14TH
-Dev: Nintendo
-Released on: 3DS
Had enough violence? Look no further as Animal Crossing: New Leaf also gets released this month. Fans of the series will feel right at home with the latest incarnation of the ever-popular life sim. This time around, the player is cast as the town’s mayor, with the game sharing a heavy focus on giving you much more freedom to customise the world around you.
As the mayor you can purchase and place various structures and features across your town as you see fit. You also have the ability to pass laws on your townsfolk, like enforcing earlier opening times for shops. Playing as the mayor is not required and you can just as easily lounge around, spending your days catching fish or digging up treasure.
And that is it for this month folks! I surely hope you enjoyed the content (and SoulBlythes ever so handsome docile tones) and we'll see you next time!
