In the wave of criticism from both anti-war and pro-military groups, famed developed Konami has quelled plans to publish the previous announced game "Six Days in Fallujah" which was to have taken place during the the Iraq battle of 2004.
More from Komani after the break.
Anthony Crouts, Konami's Vice President of Marketing, has been quoted as saying "We are no longer doing the title at this time." Now I must say that just because he says "at this time" doesn't mean it's a definite cancellation, but then again thats what fans of StarCraft: Ghost have been saying for years and we all see where that's got them.
The more than controversial game was being made by Atomic Game and developed with the help of Marines and others who were involved at ground zero of the batle in Iraq. It was originally being designed to give the average person a sense of what these soldiers had gone through.
Personally, I think that Konami should have forged ahead through all of the bad criticism and continued to publish the game but perhaps you may all disagree with me.
Drop me a line at RedJeans@siradio.fm and tell me how you feel about this whole situation. If I get enough responses I might post an editorial on the whole thing.
