For a few years now Legue of Legends has been the premier MOBA game on PC. With millions of unique players and salaried pro teams this game has taken off from its humble beginnings as a WC3 mod. But Riot Games proves it has more up it sleeve than just some new heroes and skins. Today marks the beginning of the Open Beta for LoL for Mac.
An official press release has been released and it says that the Mac release has been a big goal for Riot Games and shows their excitement to offer the League of Legends experience across both platforms.
We've also learned that the Mac client does everything that the PC client does, which means all future features, bug fixes and new content will be released on the same schedule as PC players, and if that wasn't enough thre's the promise of the Cross-Platform team going all out to rid the game of any bugs before release.
Riot games did go so far as to issue a special thanks to the awesome summoners over at iLoL who helped League of Legends become available on Mac OS. They've been doing this while the official client was in development and the official statement was "You rock, iLoLers, and we appreciate all the dedication you’ve shown to your fellow Mac-enthusiasts"
So, if you have a Mac, you should probably look into this. Just don't blame us if you do nothing else all weekend.
