F is certainly the letter of today’s broadcast, with a triple-whammy of F named games trickling out across the next 30 days ranging from mind bending puzzlers to outright insane 80’s homage’s. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Kicking off Mays releases is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, a standalone DLC pack for Ubisoft’s popular first person shooter.
The game promises to be a throw-back to the 80’s, with its tongue in cheek gameplay and stylized presentation acting as a backdrop for the games story. You play as Sergeant Rex 'Power' Colt, a cyber commando tasked with stopping an evil cyborg army in a post apocalyptic world full of mutants and laser dragons. The mechanics will remain the same, with chained kill combos and similar weapons available, however each are given a makeover to better fit your new your cyborg persona, with shurikens replacing throwing knives and a bow that looks like it was ripped straight from Tron.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon can be downloaded May 1st on PC/PS3 & Xbox 360.
Fez
Next up is the PC release on the award winning indie title - Fez.- a perspective based platformer that captivated Xbox users after its debut on the XBLA (Xbox live arcade) last year.
The games plot is centred on that of Gomez, a 2 dimensional creature that lives a flat 2 dimensional life, that is until he stumbles upon an ancient artifact that grants him a magical fez hat with the ability to shift between the 2nd and 3rd dimension, changing his environment on the fly. Unfortunately the artifact breaks soon after, causing Gomez to venture across the lands using his newfound power to navigate seemingly impossible obstacles in the quest to retrieve fragments of the broken relic.
Fez will be shifting onto PC May 1st.
Fuse
Last up this month is FUSE, a 3rd person cover based shooter set in a not-so-distant future full of dangerous weaponry and evil organisations. You play as one of 4 characters, each armed with their own unique abilities as you attempt to stop the worlds imminent destruction at the hands of a shadowy group of evil do-ers.
The games main focus is its 4 player coop, allowing you and your friends to gather up and play through the game over the Playstation network & Xbox live as you progress through the games main story.
Fuse is due out May 28TH in the US & May 31ST in Europe on PS3 and Xbox 360.
