Out This Month: February's Releases

Title

This month plays host to a tripple A line-up for gamers out there.  Expect Aliens, Astronauts & err.... A dragon (gotcha!) as we sum up three of the biggest releases in February's schedule. More after the break, if you're brave enough to click it!

Dead Space 3

Kicking off this month’s line-up of releases is the third instalment of the unluckiest guy in the history of space travel, Isaac Clarke. This time around everyone’s favourite engineer finds himself on the hunt of the elusive marker, a mysterious device that converts friendly scientists into deformed tentacle flesh monsters, each earning their own place on the disturb-o-meter. But fear not, Isaac is not alone in his quest for severed limbs, as players can look forward to jump in-jump out coop action in the form of a new character, John Carver, a grizzled military man who doesn’t like it when his friends grow blades from their eyes.

Alongside the return of the necromorph, Isaac will also have to contend with the return of those nasty boss battles along the addition of armed fanatics, hell-bent on killing Isaac and claiming the marker for themselves. The trademark ‘Slice N Dice’ attitude will once again show its blood soaked face, with promise of more ways than ever to hack and slash your way through the hordes of meaty .

Dead space 3 slices its way onto the shelves on February 5TH in the US, with Australia and Europe following on the 7TH & 8TH respectively.

Yet another space derelict, poor Isaac.

"Its okay, i can buff that out..."

Aliens: Colonial Marines

February is shaping up to be a month of aliens and terror, with Aliens: Colonial Marines, the latest in a long line of games to burst from the chest of the ‘Alien’ series. The latest game to tackle everyone’s favourite big headed hunters puts the player in the shoes of a marine, recently stranded on the now wrecked setting of Hadley’s Hope, which fans will remember as the unfortunate setting from the second movie. Things don’t get any better for our poor hero, as soon the stars of the show decide to make an appearance after smelling their favourite dish, horrified marine, and so starts the player’s survival efforts to beat all the odds and escape without becoming an alien tail kebab.

All this doom and gloom is enough to get any soldier down, but fear not, as you can call upon 3 buddies to have your back with drop in-drop out Coop as standard, expect to share your most embarrassing screams and cries for help as you blast your way through the games campaign. Co-op isn’t the only multiplayer action up for grabs either with the game supplying players with a humans VS aliens team deathmatch mode, akin to that of the ever popular Aliens Vs Predator game released in 2000. The mode pits humans with a variety of weapons and gadgets from the films (smart guns and motion trackers are a marines best friend after all) against a range of Xenomorph variations, including a suicide bomber, a spitter, the classic walk clinging type & the tanky bull-like charger.

Aliens: Colonial Marines will be hatching February 12TH across all platforms.

The Xenomorph, killer or misunderstood hugmaster?

I used to be a marine like you, until i took a Xenomorph to the knee.

Skyrim: Dragonborn (DLC)

Taking a break now from the horrors of the stars, this month also plays host to the latest official expansion for the much loved 5th entry into The Elder Scrolls series, Skyrim. Players will leave behind the snow kissed hills of Skyrim and journey to Solstheim, an island found off the coast of Morrowind (I’ll stop you there, no you cannot swim to the main land...) The expansion reveals more about the history of the dragonborn with rumours that the first dragonborn has returned and is hell-bent on being the only dragon-eating-shout-master alive.

To accompany the new lore and setting, players will get a goody bag of new features of play with, including new dungeons to explore, new weapons and armour to craft & collect, as well as new powers and shouts which range from buffs that cause bone shattering blows to the ability to ‘hi-jack’ a dragon out of the air, and rain a storm of death upon your foes from the skies on your new found friends/food.

The Elder Scrolls V: Dragonborn will be landing on February 5TH internationally on PC, with the console version available to download now.

Dragon, or flying burger? you decide!

Flying mount or flying dragon burger?

That's all we've got time for today folks, but be sure to check this space at the start of every month for your dose of the latest releases.
