All hope may not be list for Vigil Games and their Darksiders series just yet. While its now set in stone that Sega, Koch Media, Crytek, Take-Two and Ubisoft have all made purchases of the various former THQ properties, no one had gobbled up Vigil Games.
Taking to twitter Haydn Dalton, the lead designer for Darksiders, let slip some plans that they had IF Darksiders III was to be made - "There was a shimmer on a slither of hope, that at one point, there'd be a Darksiders III: 4 player co-op; It rode off into the sunset today."
JP Kellams, a talent spotter, translator and writer for Platinum Games, laid out a tweet of his own - "@haydndalton hey man. If anyone is interested in working with/at Platinum let me know how to get ahold of you via DM" - a nice message to hear to help out developers who could be looking for work right?
Even better tweets followed as Atsushi Inaba, Platinum head, tweeted "In THQ studio and IP selling off auction, Darksiders is unsold? [We] wanna buy it...on the cheap..."
This could be potentially great news for Vigil games and the Darksiders franchise, as the House that build Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and the Wonderful 101 has a lot of lore and history to work with in the Darksiders Universe and the chance of 4 player co-op in Darksiders makes me super happy!
