Every Thursday during Asian Insanity, I bring you the lastest music and news from Japan and Korea. The topics of discussion this week were the finalization of the Maid Sama manga, the new Sailor Moon's anime delay, and more.
Check it out!
Having started in 2006, Kaichou wa Maid Sama will be finalized as a series this year. As one of my favorite shojo mangas, I am sad to hear this.
Kaichou wa Maid-sama revolves around Misaki, a student counsil president, who is rough around the edges and secretly works at a maid cafe.
The story follows her life in falling in love with a popular boy in school which then follows his background as an outcast in his prestigous family.
Its not your typical shojo manga, and much like NANA, it has a great depth.
The manga was adapted into a 26-episode anime in 2010, which only showcased the relationship between Misaki and Usui. The manga goes fruther into their relationship and then into Usui's background.
I highly recommend the manga AND the anime... as this is one of my favorites... about the same level as NANA and that is my ALL time favorite shojo.
Last year it was announced that a new Sailor moon anime was to be released this summer. Much to the disappointment of the Sailor Moon fans, the anime has been delayed. When the editor was asked about the released date, he stated... " Not 2014. Perhaps." So it looks like we wont be seeing a new Sailor Moon anime for quite some time.
