Controversy has been surrounding the House of M (aka Microsoft) ever since they announced project Natal at E3. Now that we have confirming reports on not one but TWO new XBOX 360 Models set for launch in Q4 of next year.
The rumor mill has been running wild that one of these consoles will focus around Project Natal as it will be built into the system. An anonymous source from Microsoft was quoted as telling EuroGamer "Don't believe nonsense on the internet is all I'll say. We'll do the right thing for Natal."
While Group Project Manager Aaron Greenberg responded by saying "I think part of the excitement about this announcement is that in many ways we are delivering a next generation experience this generation. With that said, I can confirm that Natal will run on Xbox 360 so no new console investment will be necessary."
Hmmm....Conspiracy here?
Now its quotes like this that lead the mind to wander and wander it does. Now we'd like to focus on the fact that they said that a new console would not be "necessary" but there was no actual denial that Natal wouldnt be built right into a version of the console. But what we do know for sure at least is that it will be released as a stand alone add on for the current gen system.
This leaves TeamXbox still claiming that the release of the new XBOX will not be held back for just Project Natal reasons but because Microsoft is waiting for Stereoscopic 3D TV functionality to saturate the market so that they can also support that technology and continue to further the boundries of gaming.
