SCi/Eidos takes on Conan
It looks like Eidos Interactive is the latest publishing giant to jump on the MMORPG bandwagon. The British publisher, which was bought last year by SCi Entertainment, has secured distribution rights to Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. SCi/Eidos will publish the boxed product of Age of Conan, while Funcom get to keep the digital distribution rights. However this does mean the game will now be delayed until between March-May '07 rather than the first quarter of '07. This announcement also promises that "Funcom and SCi/Eidos will also cooperate to bring the game to the console market."
Age of Conan is a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMO) where a mix of a deep, story-driven single-player experience and a brutal and intense massively multiplayer game brings forth the ultimate representation of the Age of Conan. Now you can enter the brutal domain of the world¢s greatest fantasy hero. The game will begin as a 20-hour single-player game in which gamers will create a specialized character before heading into a sprawling multiplayer online campaign.
