So, now that Richard Garriot's latest project has finally been revealed, we can start digging for newbitz! Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virutes (or just Shroud for short) is the newest game from the mind that brought you the Ultima series, which will be "the Ultimate RPG". Touting such features as a fully interactive world - if it looks useable, it should do something - original ficition with ethical choices that have an actual impact on your world, classes progression, and optional solo online/offline play, Shroud is looking to break free of the chains modern RPGs have been bound with and reintroduce both old and new gamers to the reason WHY we got into the games to begin with.
If you're interested in helping the project, you can head over the the Kickstarter page and lend some greenbacks; though it launched Friday, March 8th, it already has over ten-thousand backers and nearly $650,000 in revenue built up towards the one million dollar goal.
