As you all know, the PSP Go was announced as the next iteration of the moderately successful handheld system from Sony, and now they're trying to sweeten the deal by giving us some free stuff. That's right, for those of you Europeans that decide to make the switch to the PSP Go Sony is offering 3 free downloads! The bad news is that Sony really didn't make this simple for you because the way it works is you will need to register the PSP Go on the PlayStation Network, then log into PSN with your original PSP and a UMD in the drive, then you will be able to download a PSP Go theme that includes an e-mail voucher for three free downloadable games. Sounds a bit overly complicated right? Yeah we thought so too. Not to mention if you wanted to trade in your old PSP to use in your funding endeavor then the idea of these free downloads is out the window.
At this point in time we only know nine of the games that will be available for this program but there will be a total of 17 games when it fully launches. The known titles include: Killzone Liberation, SOCOM US Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo 2, WipEout Pure, Everybody's Golf, Echochrome, Buzz!: Brain Bender, Buzz!: Master Quiz, LocoRoco, and Patapon. The upgrade reward program will last from October 1st 2009 until March 31st 2010 so make sure to get your upgrade ASAP so not to miss out on this great deal. While an upgrade program has not been announced for the US, there's a good chance that one will be announced in the coming months.
