APB (All Points Bulletin) decided to go to Gamescon this week to show off more gameplay and, of course, make me drool. The Real Time Worlds team have decided to show a day in the life of an Enforcer (the good guys/cops)
In this video you are the Enforcer. You can see the player fight criminals at 2:43, you can see what happens when you die, driving and shooting from cars, and just the overall set up of gameplay. So far this is the most gameplay we have seen from RTW and it looks amazing. In the background you can hear them say they are about a month and a half from beta. Listen closely at the end ;)
Kotaku reported that in gameplay you could use death tunes when you kill a player, basically taunting them and being like "Haha, how about I Rick Roll you after I kill you, Eat That!" Yeah, maybe not Copyrighted music, but imagine if you could. Also, Kotaku reported details of a mission the Enforcers were given. It was a 9 Chapter long mission that the developers never finished due to the fact that the criminals kept interfering and stirring up trouble. Another team of developers, playing as the criminals, were alerted and matched with the team of enforcers, when the task began. One of the most suprising things is the Enforcers advantage on the Criminals. Enforcers of course can arrest Criminals, and it is actually worse than being killed. Handcuffs last longer than death in APB.
Another thing on gamers minds about APB is the price and payment methods. As of now all that is confirmed is that it will not follow a traditional monthly subscription model. This could be either good or bad, hopefully more details will be released about methods of payment when the closed beta gets closer. Also, RTW has currently stated that they have no plans to transfer APB to the Xbox 360 as rumored before. It's early in the game really, so in the future it may be a possibility but not right now. It will stay a PC only game.
APB looks really promising. It is a GTA MMO with the character creation of CoH. I really am looking forward to this game. Let's just hope they don't mess it up with microtransactions giving other unfair advantages.

Super Mario All-Stars may be heading to the Wii's Virtual Console channel or the DS. It's just a rumor at this point, but if it was true it would mean you could get all 3 Marios + the Lost Levels. It would be nice and maybe the prices would start going down on the VC games.

Many Nintendo Wii owners have wondered when and if they would implement harddrives in the Nintendo Wii or future models and today we sort of get an answer. The Wii will soon be able to play DLC, expansions, Virtual Consoles, and Wiiware games from an SD Card. The Wii will support up to 32GB SD Cards.
This also means that Guitar Hero 5 will be the first GH game to use DLC. Maybe we will even get the same song packs as the 360 at the same time!
:o
Just as we announced the big price drop for the PS3 as the "Slim" model is released we can now confirm that the XBOX 360 Elite will also drop price to $299 on September 1st. In case you're wondering September 1st is the launch day for the new "Slim" PS3. This also seems to coordinates with the recent speculation we posted about that the Elite will be taking the place of the Pro SKU. This is more and more evidence that no mater how much they deny it there WILL be a Natal enabled version of the 360 coming next year to replace the Elite SKU and we assume the price for that model will be around $399.00.
Whether it's good business or not we really have to think that the House of M is hoevering over the dying Sony ready to swoop in and deliver the death blow. We've said it a few times but I think it bears repeating: Sony is going the way of Sega. With attnetion spans the way they are today and buyers ready to move on to the next big thing a 10 Year Plan just seems a bit...well...impractical. The PS3 boom has yet to be seen but with the hand held market being ruled by Nintendo and the PSP slowly dying and now Mircosoft cutting prices to match them this is really close to their last run. How long can you justify funding something that bleeds out money just as fast, if not faster, than you can throw it?
Ladies and Gents my name is DJ RedJeans and I'm addicted to flash games. I've been addicted to flash games since Newgrounds was simply Assassin and Albino Blacksheep was the "big new thing". I've worked in customer service for a long time and I notice that there is one constant as I move from job to job and call center to call center. The constant is that YOU, the people, love flash games too. Whether its a shoot'em up, a side scroller, or simply just Tetris there is no better way to waste the day than flash games. Some are good, some are bad but they're all FREE.
So why not have someone weed through all the games and bring to you the best of the best? Would you like to play the cream of the crop in new and classic flash games without spending hours searching through archives and flash portals? Well let me do it for you. Every Wednesday Ill be bringing you a great flash game and review so you'll know what you NEED to play if you havent already got your greedy little mouse hand all over it....
What? I've seen your mouse. Might wanna clean off the cheeto dust....DON'T LICK IT! Jebus, buncha savages in this town I tell ya. This week's review is a game called Toss the Turtle and you can catch more information and a link to play it after the break.
