So we know that you guys are not only music junkies but you're also game heads too. So in light of that revelation we bring to you the UNOFFICIAL The Beatles Rock Band tracklist that will be appear in an unpcoming issue of Game Informer. The game will apparently have a story mode that will follow the band as they invent these tracks of musical genius and include previously unreleased studio banter from the band from their prime.

Kotaku is reporting that the next wave of XBOX 360 Elites will not be shipping with HDMI cable...nor component cables. Apparently this info was confirmed by some unnamed Gamestop employees. It seems that the only thing that will be shipping with the console will be the SD cables which is a bit of a let down for those expecting to get the most from their gaming experience right out of the box. Why would Microsoft make a business decision like this? Are they looking to manufacture their own cables? Sell them for profit? Could the Natal enabled 360 include an HDMI cable as the Elite takes the place of the Pro SKU just discontinued? Our guess is just as good as yours but we speculate it could be due to the fact they posted their first official "loss" in funds this year due to the recession. Who ever said that the game industry was recession proof is an idiot.

From the Game Developers Conference in Cologne, Germany comes the announcement from CCP Games as to what DUST 514 is. Made during a keynote address by CCP CEO Hilmar Veigar Petursson, it's a console-based hybrid MMO/FPS set in the EvE universe.
“We launched EVE Online in 2003 and have experienced steady annual growth– a fact we appreciate as a rarity in the world of MMOs, especially given the global economy of the past year,” said Petursson. “Our success with EVE Online has afforded us the highest caliber global design and production talent in gaming. With a team of the best minds in the industry, we conceived an ambitious new take on virtual world development with DUST 514.”
DUST 514 has first-person shooter and RTS-style gameplay that will interact directly with EvE Online. The primary gameplay is ground combat that takes place on the surface planets of EvE. It will feature strategic planning and will give commanders and infantry real-time configurable weapons as well as modular vehicles to take into battle.
DUST 514 has been in development by CCP's Shanghai studio and has been in the works for three years. The team has veteran designers of EvE Online and other talent from the video game industry. “Since opening our Shanghai studio, we have invested in building a team that wants to push the envelope in gaming and be pioneers in the industry,” said Kjartan Pierre Emilsson, Managing Director of CCP Shanghai. “Having led the design and development efforts of the project from start to finish, our studio is honored to call DUST 514 our first title release.”
More details on it will be released at Fanfest on October 1st thru 3rd in Reykjavik, Iceland.

So it looks like Playstation Lifestyle has a few pictures up of a Best Buy ad showing an actual PS3 slim and price point for the system. Now there has been speculation around the web by people who have seen a pixel or two that the photo might have been manipulated or "Shoopd" as the kids say. Right now the only option we have to do is play the waiting game in hopes that Sony will announce something during GameCom in Cologne, Germany next week.
Now we think that these pictures are pretty legit being that this is the only possible strategy that Sony could afford at this point and with the recent news of them putting BluRay drives into a production pick up. Sony has been willing to lose money over the last three years on these things, but we think if they had released the PS3 at this price or something similiar to it during original launch they would have still met the same loss but have recouped more as well in people buying more systems, in turn buying more games, and in turn buying more BluRay movies.
Look Sony, you're not fairing too well in the market and we've heard all about your ten year plan but who wants to buy into a ten year plan? Gamers are notorious for our short attention spans. We're totally letting you dig yourself this hole because you did pretty much revolutionize gaming as Nintendo did before you, but we're starting to lose faith among hope. Console Wars be damned, for your sake, we hope this isn't just another joke, otherwise you might be headed the Way of the Sega. Don't let the PS3 become the next Dreamcast.
