Call of Duty 4 took three awards at the 2009 British Academy of Film and Television Arts video game ceremony.

The surprise winner of game of the year, the biggest award, was Super Mario Galaxy.

More surprising was the fact that best-selling title GTA IV went home without any awards - despite being nominated in seven separate categories.

The number might not sound too staggering until you find out that the DS Lite, in the same amount of time released, only sold 226,300 units.
